Where palm trees meet glaciers – Panoramic views over the Merano Basin and the Tschögglberg Plateau. Start your open-top drive in Merano (Meran) heading toward Lagundo and Forst. Here, branch onto the scenic Marlengo Panorama Road, which winds along the hillside offering breathtaking views over Merano and the Adige Valley. Pass Lebenberg Castle through Cermes to the fruit-growing hub of Lana. From Lana, ascend the well-maintained mountain road up to the sunny Tschögglberg plateau and Avelengo (1,290 m). The village is ideal for a stroll (Tip: walk to the iconic St. Kathrein church with its panoramic backdrop). Continue along the scenic high road through gentle rolling hills and larch woods: passing the picturesque mountain villages of Verano and Meltina, take in views of the Texel Group and Dolomites in the distance. The exciting descent winds via switchbacks down to Terlano in the valley floor. Finish with a relaxed cruise through the Adige Valley back to Merano.
