108 Lake Garda – Malcesine, Limone & Lake Toblino

Where the Alps meet the Mediterranean – Scaliger castles, boat trips, and lemon gardens. Start in Merano (Meran) taking the highway via Bolzano (Bozen) down to Rovereto South, then heading toward the northern tip of Lake Garda at Torbole. From there, cruise along the scenic eastern shore drive to Malcesine. This historic town nestles at the foot of Monte Baldo, dominated by its famous Scaliger Castle which offers breathtaking views across the deep blue lake. From Malcesine, take an optional boat crossing over to the dramatic western shore to visit Limone sul Garda. Nestled beneath steep rock faces, Limone delights with narrow alleys, a charming fishing harbor, and historic lemon houses (Limonaie). The return drive passes Riva del Garda and ascends through the romantic Valle dei Laghi (Valley of Lakes). Passing idyllic Castel Toblino set right in the middle of Lake Toblino, cruise smoothly via Trento and the Adige Valley back to Merano.
