Course: Lake Vernago (Start) ➔ Farm Trail No. 2 ➔ Tisenhof ➔ Raffeinhof ➔ Trail No. 9 ➔ Finailhof ➔ Trail No. 13A (Lakeside path) ➔ Dam wall ➔ Lake Vernago (Destination)
This circular hike leads you high above the turquoise Lake Vernago to some of the highest-altitude grain farms in Europe. Your hike begins at the parking lot of the reservoir in Vernago (Vernagt). Follow the Farm Trail No. 2 heading west, ascending gently to the traditional Tisenhof and Raffeinhof farms. Continue on the panoramic trail No. 9, which leads you to the historic Finailhof (1,953 m) – once one of the highest grain-growing farms in the Alps. From the Finailhof, walk gently downhill along the paved access road until you reach a distinct high wall. Here, a trail branches off to the right, leading down to the main Val Senales road. Follow the road for about 200 meters, and just before a right-hand bend, turn left onto the shady trail No. 13 A. This beautiful path winds along the lakeside forest, bringing you safely back to the dam wall and the starting point at the parking lot.
