The ultimate high-alpine road trip – Across Engadin passes to duty-free Livigno and glamorous St. Moritz. Start in Merano driving through Val Venosta past medieval castles to the Swiss border in Val Müstair. Beyond Santa Maria, ascend the scenic Pass dal Fuorn (2,149 m) with views toward Mt. Ortler. Traverse the Swiss National Park and drive alongside the Punt dal Gall lake to enter the duty-free enclave of Livigno (1,816 m) – perfect for duty-free shopping and lunch. From Livigno, cross the Passo della Forcola up to the iconic Bernina Pass (2,328 m). Passing close to the Morteratsch Glacier, enter glamorous St. Moritz (1,856 m) surrounded by alpine lakes and Grand Hotels. The return journey leads down the Upper Engadin to Zernez, over the Ofen Pass once more, and into historic Glorenza – South Tyrol's smallest town with fully intact medieval walls. Cruise back down Val Venosta to Merano.
