This circular hike takes you to the sun-drenched mountain village of San Martino in Monte (St. Martin am Kofel). Your journey begins with a cable car ride from Laces (Latsch) up to the picturesque mountain village of San Martino in Monte (1,740 m). Directly from the mountain station, hike uphill along trail No. 6/8 until you reach the idyllic St. Martiner Alpl (2,000 m). At the Alpl, turn right onto trail No. 8A, which leads you across the wide mountain meadows of "Rossböden" directly to the beautifully situated viewpoint Dolomites (1,926 m). Savor the incredible alpine vista. Next, descend along the somewhat steep path No. 1 to the welcoming "Platztair" tavern (1,657 m). After a relaxed rest, follow the wide farm track heading west, which leads you in a pleasant, moderate incline back to the San Martino cable car station.
