Course: Parcines (Start) ➔ Zieltal Road ➔ Gasthaus Salten / Saltenstein ➔ Parcines Waalweg (No. 7A) ➔ Vertigen ➔ Parcines (Destination)

This classic Waalweg hike is perfect for families and leisure hikers alike. You start in the picturesque village center of Parcines (650 m). From there, hike northwards along the initially steep mountain road into the impressive Zieltal valley until you reach the cozy Gasthaus Salten (800 m). Right by the prominent, giant boulder known as "Saltenstein", turn right to join the actual Parcines Waalweg trail (marked No. 7A). Now, the climb is behind you: the Waalweg runs wonderfully flat and shady above the village, heading east towards the scenic hamlet of Vertigen. From Vertigen, you can easily walk back to Parcines, continue to Tel (Töll), or head west to Rabland. Excellent and regular bus and train connections are available at all of these destinations (Parcines, Tel, and Rabland) for an easy return.
