Course: Schlinig (Start, 1,738 m) ➔ Schlinigbach Stream ➔ Innere Schliniger Alm ➔ Valley head step ➔ Sesvennahütte Refuge (2,256 m) ➔ Small lake / Junction Trail 8 ➔ Shepherd's Hut (2,336 m) ➔ Trail No. 8A ➔ Schlinig (Destination)

Through the picturesque Schlinigtal Valley to the mountain refuge and back along the sunny slopes of Watles. Drive via Malles and Burgusio, passing the imposing Marienberg Abbey, up to the peaceful mountain village of Slingia (1,738 m). From the hiking parking lot, follow the wide path alongside the crystal-clear Schlinigbach stream deep into the valley. Pass the Innere Schliniger Alm pasture (1,868 m) and master the somewhat steeper climb at the head of the valley (near the impressive gorge and waterfall) until you reach the beautifully situated Sesvennahütte Refuge (2,256 m). After a relaxing break at the refuge, walk back a short distance to the small mountain lake near the hut. There, turn left onto trail No. 8 heading toward the Watles mountain area. The path leads you comfortably across the sun-drenched slopes of the Sesvenna group. At the old shepherd's hut (Schäferhütte, approx. 2,336 m), switch to trail No. 8A, which descends steadily in gentle turns through alpine meadows and light forest directly back into the village of Schlinig.
