A delightful family hike through a scenic side valley to the rustic Mastaun Alm. Start in the picturesque village of Unser Frau in the Val Senales (Schnalstal, 1,500 m). Directly above the famous pilgrimage church, follow the access road climbing steadily up to the historic Mastaunhof farmstead (1,640 m). From the farm, continue along the well-maintained path heading west deeper into the idyllic Mastaun Valley. The trail runs comfortably along the rushing Mastaun stream until you reach the beautifully situated Mastaun Alm (1,810 m) after about an hour. Those wishing to walk a bit further can easily extend the hike beyond the Mastaun Alm. A gentle trail continues through the green valley floor all the way into the peaceful head of the Mastaun Valley (Talschluss, adding approx. 1 hour round trip). The return journey follows the exact same route back down to Unser Frau.
