An idyllic forest and alpine pasture hike on the shaded slopes of Castelbello. Drive from Castelbello (Kastelbell) via the hamlet of Latschinig up the mountain road to Freiberg until you reach the shaded trailhead parking lot "Alte Säge" (1,400 m) by the Schlumsbach stream. From here, begin your hike on foot following the well-maintained forest road heading east. The path ascends gently and evenly through the coniferous forest, making the climb easy and pleasant. After a relaxed walk, the forest clears to reveal the beautifully situated Marzoner Alm (1,600 m). After a rewarding break featuring regional specialties and homemade dishes on the sunny terrace, return to the parking lot along the exact same route.
