From the village center of Naturno (Naturns), walk toward the parish church. Just before reaching the church, cross the Kirchbach stream over a bridge. Join a narrow trail that climbs uphill to the Bichlhof farm and onward to the Schwalbennest viewpoint. Having reached the highest point on this section (665 m), descend gently into the district of Kompatsch. At Kompatsch, cross the Adige (Etsch) River and ascend gently on the opposite side of the valley through the peaceful village of Tschirland up to Gsindboden. Here, enjoy a breathtaking panorama looking deep into the Schnalstal Valley toward Mount Similaun (3,597 m), near whose summit the famous glacier mummy "Ötzi" was discovered. Continue along the path to the welcoming Unterschwarzplatz inn (800 m). From there, follow the reflective Naturno Trail of Reflection (Besinnungsweg) down to the valley and cross the river bridge back to your starting point in the village center.
