Equipment: hiking boots, backpack with drinks, waterproofs, plasters. Always keep to the red and white marked route or path and pay attention to the weather. There is a risk of lightning and falling rocks during thunderstorms.

Course: Töll - Lagundo - Ochsentod - Castle Thurnstein - St. Peter - Dorf Tirol

Take a car, bus or train (Töll) to just before the big bridge towards Merano, turn left onto the road to Plars until you reach the car park after about 200 m and where the hiking trail starts. Head slightly downhill towards Lagundo until you reach Kaffee Konrad and turn left (well signposted) continuing along a steep but short uphill climb to Ochsentod. From here, it’s just a moderate ascent from Thurnstein Castle past – S. Pietro (old church) – Tirol Castle to Tirolo. Shortly before the start of the village, ascend up to Castel Fontana and take the road towards Thurnstein Castle, continuing you will soon reach a suspension bridge, which ends directly at the “Waalweg” irrigation channel trail. Hike back to the starting point, steadily climbing uphill.
